So you’ve gotten past organic chemistry… congratulations! But now you’re onto the next challenge, biochemistry. The first semester seems pretty straightforward, learning the amino acids is no big deal. That is, until you hit the dreaded Kreb’s Cycle. This class is the backbone of the physiology you’ll be digging in deep with med school, so now is the time to start mastering it!

When I was a biochemistry major, I made flashcard packs for every single pathway and by the end of each unit, I had hundreds of cards! Through this, I figured out the best method to tackle these pathways, which you can read about in this blog post.

A simple but effective format, each flashcard tracks all the important information for each individual step in a biochemical pathway. Then use the cards as a reference as you try to write out the entire pathway by memory!
