30-DAY LANGUAGE JOURNALING CHALLENGE
WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE PAGE!
Are you ready to start improving your writing skills in your target language?
For 30 days, you will complete one journal prompt per day. Included below are three different FREE downloads of the prompts, one for each level. Select your level, download the workbook, and get started! Our community Discord server runs the challenge monthly if you’d like to join us!
-
Beginner Challenge (A1/A2)
Since you’re new to this, let’s start with a fun way to start your new language without too much intimidation. This challenge is focused on describing the present and expanding your initial vocabulary. But watch out, there are a few challenges sprinkled in!
-
Intermediate Challenge (B1/B2)
Now that you’re starting to develop a solid grasp of the language, we’re making things just a bit more complicated. In this challenge, you’ll be using more complex tenses (past, future, conditional, etc.) and structures to bring you to the next level!
-
Advanced Challenge (C1/C2)
Look at you! You completely command this language… almost like a native! For you, the journal prompts have turned into mini essays using multiple tenses and specific vocabulary to challenge you to express yourself naturally in academic and professional settings.

FAQs
When can I start the Challenge?
Any time you like!
I’ll be kicking off my own challenge every beginning of the month, but since these challenges are not dated, you are not required to stick to a schedule! Go ahead and start in the middle of the month, skip some days in between, whatever you want! It is all up to you.
How do I follow other people doing the challenge?
Follow the hashtag #Jetzt30JournalChallenge on social media to see what everyone is posting! Or, you can join our Discord server!
Be sure to share your own progress, too!
How much should I write for each prompt?
That, my friend, is totally up to you!
To get you started, though, I would recommend trying for at least 5 sentences per prompt. That will ensure you are getting past the surface-level ideas and starting to write something worthwhile without completely overwhelming you.
As you progress further in the challenge, though, try writing more!
Why is it called the “Jetzt” Journal challenge in the hashtag?
Melissa, who runs Quanta Study, has a personal language learning YouTube channel called “Melissa Jetzt”.
